Our exotic, tropical flowers have a very long vase-life. The life of
the flowers is dependant a great deal on the way you handle them once you
remove them from the shipping box. Instructions: Please remove the
flowers from the box immediately upon receipt. Cut about 1/2 inch from the end
of the stem. We have found the best thing to do next is to immerse the
flowers in a tub of clean, fresh, room-temperature water for 15 - 20 minutes,
if at all possible. (This will rejuvenate them. It is not an absolutely
necessary step if you have no means, but it will assist in prolonging their
lives. If the flowers are wilted, this IS a necessary step.) When you
are ready to arrange the flowers in a vase, you will want to use clean, fresh,
room-temperature water. Be sure to keep an adequate amount of water in the
vase. The fresher the water, the longer the life. So, if you change the water
regularly (even daily, if possible) you will help increase the life.
When you do change the water, cut the bottom of the stem a little. This also
increases the life of the flowers. These flowers will live the longest
if they are not directly exposed to sunlight. They also do not like air
conditioning; if they are in an air-conditioned room, you will definitely want
to keep the air from blowing directly on them. When the Ginger flowers
become old, they will start getting dark at the tip of the flower. You can
pinch the dying part away; this gives the flower a renewed look and makes it so
you can enjoy it longer. If a flower dies, just remove it from the
arrangement. You will find that you really do not need many flowers to make a
beautiful arrangement. Even one flower in a small vase with some foliage can be
exquisite. We would really appreciate hearing from you, if you
experiment and find other ways to prolong the lives of these flowers, or
anything else you discover along the way that will assist others to increase
their enjoyment. |
